Flynn was disqualified in the fourteenth round of his 1922 bout with Jimmy Semmens for the Australian Bantamweight Title. He won the New Zealand Featherweight belt and defended it once in 1923 before dropping the final 9 bouts of his career. Overall, he lost on disqualification 5 times and was not stopped in 33 pro fights.
