BERNIE "School Boy" FRIEDKIN LW (1935-1940)
Hometown - Brooklyn, New York, USA
48(9)-11-16
Friedkin was an active fighter, squeezing 75 pro bouts into a five year career; a number of his bouts were scheduled a mere seven to ten days following a previous bout. He was only stopped twice in his career, the first time was against Young Chippie who took Bernie out in the seventh. Apparently, Friedkin wasn't hurt all that badly as he was back in the ring scoring a KO victory of his own a mere 15 days later! Given the wins that he piled up and the opponents that he faced, it is a little perplexing to note that he never fought for any sort of belt as a pro.
Friedkin scored decision wins over Henry Hook, Jimmy Lancaster and Everett Rightmire. He drew with Petey Scalzo, twice with Mike Belloise, twice with Joey Fontana and with Kid Chocolate. His last three bouts before retiring, all losses, were to Rightmire, Scalzo and Charlie Varre.
