Zodda was a decent lightweight; from 1932 to 1935 he compiled a 20-9-0 record with nice wins over Johnny Bonito, Jimmy Casablanca, Jimmy Fantini, Patsey LaRocco, Abe Wasserman, Charley Gomer, Billy Humphries, Harry Oberman and Johnny Vestri. In August of 1935, Zodda drew with Joey Fernandez and then slowly descended to opponent status. He finished his career 4-24-5 but faced some of the toughest boxers around at his weight. He dropped bouts to Maxie Strub, Bushy Graham, Benny Bass, Tony Canzoneri, Steve Halaiko, Freddie Archer, Jimy Tygh, Tommy Spiegel, Lew Jenkins and Tippy Larkin. He also drew with George Zengaras and Wesley Ramey and beat Frankie Terranova. He was stopped seventeen times in 62 pro bouts.
