Birthplace: Osijek, Bosnia

A moderatly successful middleweight who packed a pretty good punch and saw some action against a number of rated fighters. Kohler's 2nd career fight was against veteran middleweight Leo Starosch. Kohler KO'd Starosch to end the German's career in July 1957. Kohler started out 6-0-1 before loosing a 10 round decision to Leen Jansen in January 1958. He won a couple other fights before he was KO'd in 4 round by Peter Mueller. Over the next 2-1/2 years Kohler defeated Helmut Ball and Jimmy Slade, along with a 10 round draw over a Jean Ruellet(58-69-21,19KO) a very busy French middleweight of the time. The rest of the pack though we've seen rated, he could not beat loosing to Laszlo Papp, Wladislas Kopec, Paul Roux, Gilbert Chapron, Gustav Scholz and Piero Tomasoni.
A month after the Tomasoni fight, Kohler managed a 10 round draw with Hector Constance. Kohler then stepped away from boxing for over 2 years until April 1964 when he arrived in Napoli, Italy to fight Bruno Visintin who stopped Kohler in the 4th round. Kohler fought for about 3 more years compiling a 6-6-3 record against no one we've seen before. Four noteable record opponents though were draws with Michel Diouf(43-32-6,20KO), and Silvio Ceriano(20-12-2,4KO) and losses to Jo Gonzales(39-11-2,39KO), Egon Thomsen(23-8-1,5KO) twice and Horst Wieczorek(26-9-6,3KO).
