PAT KILLEN - HW (1883-1891) Overall Rating = 7 ***
Hometown - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
34(31)-2-2
Northwest Heavyweight Champion
Killen KO'd Patsy Cardiff, Duncan McDonald and Mervine Thompson. He drew with Cardiff (ten rounds) and lost on a DQ to Thompson. His only other loss was a KO to Joe McAuliffe near the end of his career when he traveled to San Francisco. He took the Northwest Heavyweight title in Chicago with a KO over Bob Ferguson on October 11, 1891. Killen died ten days after this bout; due to injuries suffered in the bout or other circumnstances, I do not know.
*** I tested him against real opponents that he faced as well as similarly situated heavyweights of the era (3/4/5 ratings) and he feasts on them although not as much as his record would indicate that he should have. This is because I made him quite rough (low CF, no defense, et cetera) so that he would be beaten by the more polished Heavies of the day. As an example, Sullivan has little trouble with him. Anyone that is more in tune with the era and has a better take on him is more than welcome to offer criticism.
