Defeated Reg Spring in 10 round decision in October 1947 in and Eliminator for the British (South East Area) LHW Title. In March 1948 Marson then won a 12 round decision over Jock Taylor for that title. In February 1949 he lost the South East Title to Reg Spring by 7th round TKO.
During his busy career, Marson's other fights of note were wins against Mark Hart(43-13-3,14KO) twice, Len Bennett(30-16-1,14KO), Arthur Sadd, Frank Hough(MW-HW61-25-4,42KO), Reg Spring in a non title fight. Losses were mounted against Middleweight Eddie MaGuire(51-43-13,13KO), Jack Hyams, Len Bennett four times, Charlie Collett(40-20-2,31Ko), Jack Smith(27-6-2,12KO), Bert Gilroy, Dave Davis(25-5-5,11ko), and Johnny McGowan. Marson fought draws with Arthur Sadd, Charlie Collett, Jack Smith, and Jock Taylor.
