Lew Massey
A featherweight and junior lightweight contender of the thirties, Lew Massey was an Italian-American from Philadelphia who compiled a career record of 57-35-7 (9). He was stopped eight times.
Although he lost his only title shot (he was decisioned for the junior lightweight championship by Benny Bass), Massey took on the best fighters of his era, beating Davey Adelman, Sammy Tisch, Chick Suggs, Davey Abad, Harry Blitman (twice), Bat Battalino, Bud Taylor (on a disqualification), Ray Miller (twice), Koli Kolo, Harry Dublinsky, Tony Herrera (twice), Phil Zwick, Eddie Shea, Bobby Pacho (twice), Tracy Cox (twice), Leonard Del Genio, Cecil Payne, Tony Morgano, and Midget Wolgast. He lost to many of the best too, including Adelman, Battalino, Blitman, Herrera, Al Singer, Johnny Jadick, Tony Canzoneri, Eddie Cool, Cleto Locatelli, Holman Williams, Jimmy Garrison, Henry Armstrong, and Sammy Angott.
The attached version of the fighter performs pretty accurately in repeated playtesting.
