We've been evaluating 2006 for use with SGCBL. And it's been a little bit of a struggle (as all change is). But it's not the interface or some missing old feature that's finally killed 2006 for use with our league. Nope. The final nail in the coffin came tonight during testing when one of my human GM's was FIRED. And, as far as I can tell, there's no way to turn off that "feature".

I can see where it would be fun to have a league where the participants are fighting for jobs with different teams. Sorry, guys, but that's not the way our league works. Our guys are team owners and GM's (you should have seen the flare up over the fact that they wouldn't be able to set their own ticket prices in the new version). They are not going to take kindly to being fired, even if their team sucks. And then where do they go?? Do I have to reassign GM's all the time as Commish? And what if they get fired in the middle of a sim week and the AI takes over and messes up their team?

We'll sit out another season and wait for a few more patches. (Which makes me incredibly sad.)
