Well, I spent most of the day yesterday trying to recreate this. First, I just set up a very simple fictional league with a couple of human GM's to run through seasons really, really fast. I did everything I could to tick off the team owner, and still couldn't get the human GM fired. So, that's good.
Unfortunately, when I tried to convert my online league and set it up to try, I kept getting game crashes. I haven't been able to sim a single game, yet. I am still plugging away at it, though.
I think we'll wait for the patch before making a final judgment.
Sorry for the panic earlier (it was late and I was tired).

"Beings will come, Frodo. The one constant through all the years has been baseball. Middle Earth has rolled by like an army of Mumakil. It has been erased like a slate, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Frodo. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... beings will come Frodo. Beings will most definitely come." -
