Last season saw fewer complete games than almost any other season in MLB history, and there were still 63 complete game shutouts recorded. That's more than one every three days over the course of the season, at historically low levels. The shutout numbers the game's producing are reasonable. It looks as if more are being recorded if you look at the news reports, though, because OOTP06 generates a news story for any complete game shutout, while OOTP6 only generated it for one- or two-hitters. All those six-hit shutouts that went by unremarked in previous seasons are getting news articles now.
