I'm not a simmer and it happens to me too.
When I first load the game, mouse clicks respond immediately. However, after a while scouring the free agent pages - sorting, loading profiles, applying & taking off filters, the game almost grounds to a halt. It can take a few seconds between clicking on a menu command and the screen coming up.
If I save & exit, then reload, it's fine again. I have 1Gb ram so this shouldn't really be happening.....
