I believe the issue does not affect US Mcs Macs and Os, it's only players from other countries. This would explain why the issue persists after the patch, but not for the MAL quickstart.

Also, once you have created a league, it will not use a new nameset, so if you're using a league created pre-patch, it will not be taking advantage of the new names files.
