I've noticed problems with the all-star game scheduling that overlap at least by 50% with what Carplos mentioned, so I hope it's okay if I intrude on this thread...
Here's what I've seen (everything with the patch installed):
The schedule I'm using has the following characteristics - start date May 4th or later, preferred start day Thursday (5/04/2006 is a Thursday), All-Star Game on Day 97
With proper settings, this schedule gets loaded automatically for the 2006 season, opening day is correctly set to 5/04, and the ASG to 8/08 (Day 97).
The next year, opening day is correctly set to 5/10/2007 (the first Thursday on or after 5/04), and the ASG is also correctly moved to 8/14/2007.
However, it breaks down for Year 3. Opening Day is now 5/08/2008 (this is correct), but the ASG remains on 8/14, while the schedule-mandated ASG break is 8/11 to 8/13. And this persists for all future seasons...the schedule gets moved around the calendar as intended, but the ASG remains on 8/14 no matter what.
It's also apparently impossible to fix it manually in the off-season, as Carplos mentioned. In League Setup, I can disable "Automatically Schedule Allstar Game", at which point the combo boxes for the ASG date appear, but they do not "take" any changes...I can change them from 8/14 to something else, but as soon as I leave the screen, they revert to 8/14, so once I'm in the next pre-season, I get a wrongly scheduled ASG on 8/14 again.
The only way I've found to fix this is to manually re-import the schedule again, each off-season. I think (not completely sure) that would break the team randomization though, so the schedule would then have identical matchups each year...
