Because SF's count as a plate appearance but not an AB, eh? Therefore lowering OBP but not AVG. I checked and this guy had 16 total plate appearances and 3 SFs. 12 ABs and five hits, one walk. So a BA of .417 and an OPB of .375 - it works, no bug.
That makes sense. Adam Dunn would never have to worry about this problem.
Thanks for the explanation - I should have realized that. I guess with more and more times to the plate, the odds of this happening would be much less.
