Carr started out his career 6-0-0 in 1964 including wins over Everett Copeland twice, Lou Hicks, Johnny barrazza and Don (Toro) Smith. Then in November of 1964 he lost a 10 round decision to Billy Joiner. There followed in 1965 two losses to Joe Shelton and Tony Doyle and a decision loss to James J. Woody in March 1966. In october and December of 1966 he won two 8 round decisions over Bob Stallings and Eddie Vick(11-15-0,0KO).
After 1966 BoxRec shows only one fight a year for Carr from 1967 through 1971. That included losses all by early round knockouts to Leotis Martin, Oscar Bonavena, Ted Gullick and Ron Stander. In Sept 1969 he did manage an 8 round decision over a Billy Williams(8-7-1,1KO).
