You know what? I wouldn't. Angus will be a serviceable pitcher, but IMO his stuff rating is just too, too low for him to be a front line guy. His ceiling is basically becoming a clone of
Shawn Boskie, which is good, but at the time I had a pretty good pitching staff and Angus wasn't going to crack the rotation.
If you look at the whole deal, it was this:
To Buffalo:
Tyler Ryan
Oscar Vizcaino
Angus McGyver
New Orleans 1995 2nd round pick
To New Orleans:
Marty Powers
Christopher Crawford
Jack Dark
Buffalo 1995 4th round pick
My reasoning was a) My bullpen was terrible, and Powers is awesome, b) Moving Tyler Ryan's contract was great for me, and c) Crawford was a better 4th OF than Vizcaino was anyways.
Then, to make things better, I traded Jack Dark for
Arthur Jagger, which saved me 4 Million dollars a year. Jagger isn't a world beater, but he's a fantastic defensive outfielder who looks remarkably like Johan Santana wearing a Texas Rangers hat.
Thanks for the reply!
