You would be correct if the ball was shallow enough to cast doubt on what the runner would be able to do. BUt because the ball was hit to the track, there is no doubt and the batter is credited with a sacfly. I think that's the trouble with the game. The engine isn't programmed to recognize where the doubt begins and ends. It simply charges an error regardless.
