If you do this, what happens? Can you see the files like "app" and "config"?
Open the Windows Start menu, click on "Run", enter
%appdata%\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\config and hit Enter.
If so, even though we're not talking about a network drive here, try these steps. I just want to see if moving the data somewhere else on your drive and setting a path to it resolves the issue:

When it says "My Documents" in there, use this folder you mentioned:
C:\Users\myname\Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007
