it looks like this is a common problem. a noticed several threads here and there regarding this issue.
it would be nice to have them kept together and addressed officially.
i have seen two methods of possible repair so far in digging around that i have instructed my owners to try:
"This may or may not help, but when i see that another GM in my league gets this error message they rectify it by opening up the game, clicking the Load Game button and highlighting the league in question, then delete the league from the game. Close the game. I then have them create the league.lg folder again in the saved games folder and then go to the site and get the file and extract it to the league.lg folder. Open the game again, but do not use the continue button, choose Load Game and select the new league.lg file and load er up. This has worked everytime."
"Also, you can tell the people who have had their own leagues "corrupted" by trying to DL the current file in-game that they can "fix" it (at least, get back the working copy of the league they had before) by going into their league folder, and renaming any files that end in *.bak to *.dat instead. For any file that has both a .dat and a .bak version, delete the .dat and rename the .bak to take its place.
(What's going on there is that as soon as OOTP finishes downloading a league file, all the league's .dat files are renamed to .bak files as a backup. With your corrupted league file, new .dat files aren't being extracted to take their place, so OOTP thinks the league is corrupt because of a bunch of the .dat files seem to be missing. So "restoring" the old versions will get their leagues up and running again)"
p.s. - i will report back if either of these work.
