McIlvaney was stopped in 10 of his 12 losses and never went more then 6 rounds in a fight. He won fights over Mick Carter(2-8-5,0) twice and drew one other fight, Barry Rodney(4-14-4,2) twice, LHW Roy Seward(9-12-1,6), Tommy Woods(6-8-1,4) along with one draw, Lloyd Walford, and Paul Brown(2-11-0,2) as far as his more "noteable" victims were. He lost to Vic Moore, Billy Wynter, George Dulaire, Doyle Brown, Len Rocky James, Ian Mayberry, Gene Innocent three, Tommy Woods, Peter Boddington, and Joe Bugner

Hello, Rocco,
i was on the net when i came across your list of boxers from the 1960,s,
and my fathers name was on it, Jim Mcilvaney, but as many records have put my father down as being born in Birmingham England, infact he was born in Bellshill Scotland, and moved to Birmingham in 1961 at the age of 18, this is why he is often put down as being born there, but is infact untrue, he is a true Scott and hates being called English as you can imagine.
I hope you dont mind me telling you his real birth place.
all the best to you,
Mark Mcilvaney(proud son of James Mcilvaney.
