Bumping this to say that I'm running into the same problem.

I (stupidly) changed the data folder to the normal SI data folder but now it can't find the data path. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

I tried to follow the steps Battist posted under the FAQ but nothing helps.

EDIT: Just fixed it! Go to Battist's post in the FAQ folder and when you click the config folder, just delete the line under the path_user_data line.
