Abbie Johnson 1896
Missing player to be added to facepack.
A significant find as he was the most regular second baseman on the 1897 Louisville Colonels, making him the most recent regular missing player. That distinction now falls on Jim Rogers the regular first baseman on the 1896 Louisville Colonels. A surprising omission as the elusive Rogers started the 1897 season as the Louisville manager. Rogers started 1896 with Washington and prior to his elevation to the majors played with the Providence Clamdiggers, batting .339 for them in 1893 and driving in 94 runs in 1894. In 1892 Rogers played for Portland batting .323. After leaving Louisville in 1897 Rogers played for Springfield.
