The Cape Coral Hurricanes hammered the Hillsdale Hellcats 14-8 today at Pioneer Park by rapping out 18 base hits. Cape Coral got the best of the longball battle by slamming 4 roundtrippers. Hillsdale put 3 out of the park. That set a new IPA homer mark of 7 in one game. Rob Kelly and Fats Dalton led the way with 3 RBIs apiece. Kelly was 5-for-5 in the game, the first IPA player to ever do that. Both Kelly and Dalton had homers in the game. Todd Seals slugged a pair for the Hellcats.
Starter Kaz Hayagawa got the win, despite being the victim of a 6-run inning. None of the runs were earned. He exited in the seventh with the score 12-7. Starters Jamie Kelly of the Stallions and Chris Pierce of the Zorros pitched creditable ballgames. It was South Fork's third triumph in four tries against the Luxora.

Hart was credited with the 7-4 victory. The Naturals relief corps, Donnie Young and Yasuyuki Nakagawa also stood out, allowing only one run after the third. The loser was starter Emile Leduc, who was blasted for 6 runs and 5 hits in the first three innings.
Charlie Campbell and Kenshin Yamamoto were the offensive stars for the Ninjas with a homer each. Campbell drove in 3 runs and Yamamoto 2. Doug Cunningham hit a 3-run shot to pace Ozarka.
