This is happening because of two things.
1. Liriano is retired in the game so he is not collecting stats nor does he use up his endurance so he is never tired after a game. As a person who is retired isn't actually pitching in a game.
2. He is pitching every day because you have start highest rested starter. Since he is listed as the number 1 starter and never has his endurance drop because he isn't saving his stats therefore not getting tired, he is going to get picked to start every single game because of the type of rotation selected.
Had you have selected strict rotation he would start every 5th game like normal but still wouldn't have his stats saved until you unretire him.
There are around 25 players that are retired in the league an on teams. I am sure that there will be an update in the near future to address the retired players that are on teams and their stats. Until that comes out the best work around is to go and find the 25 retired players and unretire them so that they start saving stats. I do believe that there are screen shots posted with the listing of these players.
