Odd defensive ratings.
I have tried importing the 1969 season using the built in database, the lahman database outside of the game, a database I am working on which is Lahman's, but I have added games started and outs played at each position, and a database of players with only their 1969 stats. I have tried with recalc on and recalc off.
Now, with that info, I keep getting weird ratings for Bobby Bonds who keeps getting all 3 OF ratings below 5 on a 1-100 scale. If I then go to import him thru the free agent screen, I get ratings that are a lot more in line with his stats. I would think players would only get ratings that low if they didn't play a position.
I did get more accurate ratings using recalc, either 3 year or 1 year. However, I don't like using recalc because it gives pitchers offensive ratings they shouldn't be getting plus I only import one season to play just that season so there is no reason to use recalc.
If I use the database with only the 1969 stats for all players, then everything comes out fine.
I've treid every combination in the setup area and nothing seems to make a difference other than the recalc being on.
It would be nice to find out why Bonds is the only one this happens to that I have noticed. For the most part, all defensive ratings seem low for all players, but his are way out of line.
If more info is needed let me know.
