That gave the the Redhawks their third win in a row. 6'6" Frank Lamoreaux (5-1 4.03) fired a gutsy game, allowing 11 hits, but striking out 8 and walking only one for the victory. He was backed by 10 hits by his teammates, led by second baseman Shirai Kobayashi (.280) and catcher Sean Larson (.286), who each had 2 RBIs. Kobayashi had three hits, while center fielder Hawk Gallagher (.310) had four hits and scored three times. Gallagher singled, stole second and scored the winning run. The much-ballyhooed first baseman Maury Smith (.369) was 2-for-4 and scored a run in his first game for Glasco. He was traded to the A's for four players yesterday. Smith told BNN, "Only the uniform has changed. It is my job to just go up there and swing the bat and play baseball. We just ran into a good pitcher."
