I think you might want to totally erase the game from your hard drive and start with a fresh install and then patch before starting a new game. A more important question, I wonder if this issue has been given a BZ#???
Another thing I have done is to go to the manager home screen and do a save from the GAME dropdown in the upper left. I always close from this screen also. I have been playing for about ten days now without this problem cropping up again. That for me is only about two seasons. I play slow. Fingers are crossed.
