Contract Extension Flaw???
I've noticed what I think is a problem with contract extensions.
If I offer an extension for more than one year and in ANY of those years the amount offered exceeds the $ limit for extensions for next year, I'm not allowed to submit the offer.
For example, let's say my limit for extensions imposed by the game, based on my current budget and projected payroll for next year, is $1,000,000. If I offer $999,999 for 2009 and 2010, I'm allowed to submit the offer. However, if I offer $999,999 for 2009 and $1,000,001 for 2010, I'm blocked from submitting the offer. This happens even though my projected payroll for 2010 is over $1,000,000 below 2009, thus giving me plenty of room to pay the additional $2 in 2010. This makes it a lot harder to resign players. BTW, I checked this in v. 2007 and did not see this problem.
Another minor problem is that I have to offer $1 less that the limit to get any offer through. In other words if my extension limit is $1,000,000 I can only offer $999,999. However, I don't think this will have any affect on offers being accepted.
I am using Mac version 9.1.6.
Thanks for any advice. Maybe the game is designed this way?
