Yes, the recalc magic wand is king of anything in this regard.

Here's one very interesting thing I'm doing now - ditching the display of current ratings. I only have potential and 'other' ratings displayed. It's rather interesting.

Doesn't solve much of anything, but it helps me concentrate on only one set of ratings and lean on statistics just a bit more. That with the max talent change modifier could add some intrigue, at least on a seasonal basis.

But as far as career fluctuation, recalc farks it all up in a sense.
