Claxton's Weber May Never Play Again
The Claxton Diamonds were jolted by some terrible news -- Earl Weber's baseball career was pronounced over -- the result of a ruptured bicep tendon.
The club's GM told BNN reporters, "We were all stunned by the news. Injuries are a part of the game, but you never get used to this kind of devastating news."
To date this year in 7 starts, Weber has crafted a 5-7 mark with a 4.00 ERA.
He has appeared in 29 games, made 7 starts and struck out 77 in 90 innings. The 24-year-old righthander began the season as the team's closer, but recently was moved to the starting rotation. He was 4-2 with a 2.76 ERA in relief work with 6 saves.
