According to the 2/20/1898 Chicago Tribune this 188 pound black fighter fought in an exhibition vs. Jimmy Barry. Summers was pretty hopeless, landed only one light punch in round one, resorted to clinching in the middle of round two. Kept trying to clinch in 3rd round, wrestled Barry to the floor and left afterword. Barry was able to pepper him throughout.
