Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Mark Buerhle pitched a perfect game in the Sox 6-0 triumph over the Royals.
In a high scoring series between the Phillies and Rockies, a player hit for the cycle two games in a row. Garret Atkins of the Rockies hit for the cycle against the Phillies, going 5-5 for the game, as the Rockies lost. Shane Victorino went 4-4 to get the cycle for the Phillies against the Rockies, but the Rockies won.
