Experimental League

I started this fictional league in 1900 with 2 leagues each with 6 teams. the experiment was financial. What would happen to the league if I put the market size to each franchise at 0? Would there be enough money to sign free agents?

The results - and I am in 1934 right now - are interesting. I went through 2 expansions - 2 new teams in each league each 10 years. I skipped 1930. Right now, each leage is 2 divisions, each with 5 teams.

There have been no financial problems. Players that were asking more than the market could bear settled for less than they originally asked. Also, over that span of 35 years, some teams have improved their market share. The breakdown of market share by division is:

league 1, division 1: 6-1-1-0-2
league 1, division 2: 4-2-3-1-1

league 2, division 1: 0-0-0-3-2
league 2, division 2: 0-1-0-1-0

In both expansions, I moved the 2 most successful franchises from league 2 to league 1. That accounts for the disparity.

Anyway, that''s my story and I'm sticking to it
