It was quite a ballgame at Douglas Denton Field in Denton City! The Viks went ahead in the eighth 9-7, only to see Denton City come back and tie it up again in the last half of the frame. Bayview bashed out 14 hits during the game and were sparked by CF Phil Kanaan (.400), 1B Chancey Quibedeaux (.167), C Hank Bethel (.250) and Scott (.368) with two RBIs apiece. The Redbirds smacked 11 hits in all. MacCormack (.667) had a great game for the Redbirds with 3-for-4 and five runs batted in. MacCormack leads the playoffs with 11 RBIs. SS Trevor Tomlinson (.438) and 2B Glen Throckmorton (.316) also chipped in three hits apiece. Quibedeaux had a roundtripper for the Vikings and MacCormack and C Howard Lombard (.294) homered for Denton City. Winning pitcher Terry Banks (1-0 8.53) settled down and blanked the Redbirds over the final three innings after being touched for two runs in the eighth.
