Suns-Lynx Trade: English for Boyer and Hudson
The Arroyo Grande Suns swapped 31-year-old shortstop Kevin English for 33-year-old starting pitcher Charley Boyer and 24-year-old starting pitcher Val Hudson of the Lynx after what La Claire officials would only characterize as "difficult" negotiations.
English is a fine fielder, who hit .319 in his second year with 5 homers, stole 29 bases and scored 75 times. Lifetime English is hitting .285 with 327 hits, 66 doubles, 12 triples and 8 home runs. He has scored 152 runs and driven in 76.
In 2003 Boyer was 10-13 with a 3.03 ERA in 21 starts. His career mark is 12 victories and 14 defeats. Boyer also has struck out 147 batters in 201 innings and compiled a 3.27 ERA.
Hudson was 7-5 in 15 starts and put up a 3.53 ERA in his rookie year in 2003.
