Tycobbian Union West Division Final Standings
Bayview Easy Winner in TU West, Denton City Distant Second
The Bayview Vikings breezed to the Tycobbian Union West crown and won it by 9 games over runner-up Denton City. Surprising La Claire turned it on in the second half of the season to finish in the third spot, 12 games off the pace. The Rolling Hills Reds flopped after mounting a strong challenge at the halfway point. The Reds were just 4 games back, but ended up 14 games out and in fourth place. Arlon had a miserable first half in the cellar, but recovered and climbed up to fifth by year's end. The Champions were 20 games behind and edged sixth place Bay St. Clair by a game. Chicopee and Kenwood played poorly the entire season and came in seventh and eighth respectively, 28 and 33 games out of first place.
The division-winning Vikings and second place Redbirds will now advance to the Sweet 16 playoffs. They will open best-of-five series against TU East teams this afternoon. Bayview will go to Tuckanarra to play the Blue Jays, while Denton City will be at home against the TU East title-winning Red Bluff Red Sox.
