Middlefield-Mahaska Announce Deal
The GM/managers of the Middlefield Roosters and Mahaska Haymakers have signed off on a trade for Mahaska's 24-year-old catcher Mike Kanjorsky. To complete the deal, the Roosters will send 24-year-old starting pitcher Don Shaw to the Haymakers. Smitty Michaels and Rudy Tanussa announced the deal today.
This season Shaw registered a 10-7 mark with a solid 3.17 ERA. Since joining the league, Shaw has compiled an ERA of 3.31 with a career record of 15-9. He has 141 strikeouts in 204 innings and has held opponents to a .233 batting average.
Kanjorsky fills a big need for a good-hitting catcher for the Roosters. He is a workhorse behind the plate and has played in 142 and 143 games during the past two years. This season Kanjorsky hit .299 with 14 homers and 65 RBIs. His career stats show that Kanjorsky has batted .291 and connected for 22 home runs.
