Kazmarek's .349 Average Tops in RU, 4th Straight Batting Title
Jet Kazmarek gave Vipers fans plenty to cheer about this past year. His latest achievement, the 2005 Ruthlandian Union batting crown, gives them one more reason to celebrate. In 147 games, the Valmara left fielder hit .349 with 190 hits, 13 home runs, 74 RBIs, and 98 runs scored. Kazmarek has dominated this category. He has won it four times in five years. His rookie season is the only time Kazmarek hasn't taken the trophy. He hit .314 in 2001, while shortstop Scooter Perez of Volusia took the title with a .374 mark.

Rookie Walker Leads TU Hitters
Nobody in the Tycobbian Union outhit 22-year-old Dayton Walker this season. It became official today with the close of the regular season that the talented Kenwood rookie center fielder was the best in the league - but just barely better. Walker hit .358862 and edged out Bayview second sacker Andy Hansen by .000166 points. Hansen had a .358696 batting average.
Walker's average was officially rounded off to .359 average and that put him at the top of the leaderboard and got him the TU batting title. Walker's stats also included 164 hits, 45 doubles, 8 triples, 4 home runs, 52 RBIs and 78 runs. Walker played in 134 games.
