So, is there a way to get a list of all players who retired in 1931 for example.

Thanks
Have you had the "Retire According To History" box checked for the duration of this sim? If you have you can go to Baseball-Reference.com (what a site) and look up each year individually. There is a page called "Leagues", which lists league pages for every year back to 1871. Go there and look up the individual year you're interested in. When you get to that year's league page with team statistics and standings, you'll notice a bunch of grey boxes just above the bolded Team Statistics and Standings: like Standings, Fielding, Batting, Pitching, Leaders&Awards, Other, and Minor Leagues. Move your mouse over the "Other" box and you'll see the following options: "Attendance & Misc.", "New Debuts", "Retirements", "Born This Year", "Died This Year", "Transactions", and "Amateur Draft". Click on "Retirements" and you're set. Don't forget that since it's divided into hitters and pitchers, most pitchers will be in both lists, but not all, so you need to do a quick check of the pitchers list, just to make sure none have eluded your grasp. You could also look up the individual in question on BB-Ref and it'll tell you his retirement date. Hope this helps.

EDIT: Of course, there is also a chance that players have suffered career ending injuries, in which case all bets are off. As well, if this is a fictional league, all bets are off and you're on your own.
