2007 IPA Pro Cup Finals - Game Four at Nonnac Stadium in Stoner
Oxford Wins on a Lark 5-2, Leads Pro Cup 3-1
Bobby Lark crashed a three-run homer in the top of the ninth to give the Oxford Red Caps a 5-2 decision over the Stoner Stars in game four of the IPA Pro Cup Series. The win gave the Red Caps a huge 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Manager Campy Roy got a standout game from Dan Phillips (2-2 3.95), who worked seven innings and yielded only two runs. Del Anderson (1-0 2.45) relieved Phillips in the eighth and got the victory with two scoreless innings. Stoner's starter Ted Chambers (2-1 2.35) also had a solid outing as he tossed eight frames and allowed only two runs. Dwight Ruckman (0-1 5.40) came on in the ninth and was the loser.
Oxford's 11-hit attack included three roundtrippers and was led by CF Wayne McDonald with a perfect 4-4 day. McDonald (.333), C Wayne Cosgrove (.277) and RF Lark (.247) all collected home runs. SS Karol Zodoka (.375) paced the Stars with four hits.
