NOT TODAY AT SHEA; BROOKLYN TAKES GAME 4
With seemingly all baseball experts rooting for them the 55 Dodgers went into Shea Stadium for Game 4 and played a very strong mistake free game to keep the home team's champagne on ice. Emergency starter Billy Loes came to the rescue for the Bums with an effort that will be remembered, Loes got out of numerous jams and only let up 2 runs even though he allowed 12 hits.
A Todd Zeile error opened the door for the Dodgers in the 3rd inning and they plated two thanks to a single with 2 men on from Jackie Robinson. The Mets came on late but the Dodger defense was excellent with Pee Wee Reese making numerous difficult plays and Carl Furillo making the catch of the day in right field to save an extra base hit.
Brooklyn just wanted it more today. Everything on the line again in a game 5 back at Ebbetts field.
