YANKEES FLEX MUSCLE; TAKE SERIES
Another strong pitching performance, this time by Cuban rookie Orlando Hernandez allowed the 98 Yankees to win the series over the 09 Tigers, three games to one.
It is always someone who steps it seems like for the Yankees and on this clinching day it was Jorge Posada. The catcher hammered a fastball in the 4th inning close to 430 feet for a three run home run breaking open a close game.
Hernandez confused the Tigers with his delivery and other then a Ty Cobb RBI in the 8th, was almost flawless. The Yankees as a whole controlled the Hall of Fame Tigers to only 6 hits in 4 games. Mariano Rivera saved his third game of the series, and always seems to be on the mound when the Yanks clinch.
This 1998 team lived up to all the hype and in many peoples eyes beat a great team and didnt even play at their very best. The defense and pitching for New York however was dynasty like.
