Bad Blood in Game 1 Win for Sox

As expected a pitcher's duel played out in the opening game of the series between the White Sox and Cardinals. A game that was full of inside pitching and hard sliding bewteen these two champions.

It all started when Happy Felsch of the Sox smoked the first pitch of the series over the left field wall and took his time going around the bases. With the Sox up by two, Stan Musial then towered a long shot of his own to cut the lead to one.

In the 5th inning Johnny Hopp of the Cardinals went in hard on a steal attempt and took Swede Risberg out. Both players had words for eachother and had to be seperated as benches cleared.

The man of the night what Easy Eddie Cicotte however. Other then the Musial home run Cicotte was brilliant going the distance and out dueling Mort Cooper who was strong throughout as well.

The White Sox take the vital opening road win, and be sure that both sides will leave it all on the line going forward.
