Hawks Rise Nets Carlson TU Top Skipper Award
The Tycobbian Union Manager of the Year Award was pretty clear-cut. Hub Carlson led the North Hills Hawks from last place to first place this season and was an easy choice. Carlson's Hawks posted an 89-65 record, which was much improved over last year's 72-82 mark. It was the first time Carlson was honored with the top manager trophy. Second choice Gary Louis turned his Arlon Champions into a division winner after winding up sixth in 2012. His champs rose from sixth to first place with a much-improved 82-73 record. Huggy Miller of Cape Coral was the number three votegetter. He spurred his Hurricanes to a 90-64 record and edged out powerful Turon for the TU South flag. Fourth in the balloting was Summerland's Will Hackett, who lifted the Sunsets from sixth to third in the RU South race this season. The Sunsets were 80-74 for the year. Gary Louis of Arlon has copped the most managerial awards. He won in 2006 and 2008.
