This just happened to me, but it was in spring training. I saw in the news that the guy was suspended the previous day, and since my team was playing him the next day, I thought to myself "Oh good, we don't have to face him now." But when the game started, he was in the lineup - despite his profile saying he was suspended.
I just thought that maybe the suspension didn't go into effect until the regular season started. I'll have to see if he still shows as suspended on Opening Day and if he actually sits out the proper number of games.
