If I remember correctly, I had a similar thing happen in ST. A player of mine was suspended for five games and I was unable to play him at all in ST, which I thought was unfair, he still needs to get ready for the season, and then he was still suspended for the first five games of the season.
This was a couple of season ago, though, not sure if my details are exactly correct.
