I've seen position ratings "disappear" as players get older. One of my guys used to be "eligible" at all three OF positions, but had a lowish rating in CF. This year when I went to put him in as a sub in CF, I noticed he no longer had any rating at all in CF. I don't play in commish mode so I haven't checked the Player Editor to see what his true CF rating is, but it's probably just gone down so low that it doesn't get reported.

I've seen a number of older players lose all their position ratings as they approach 40-years old. I assumed this was the scout's way of telling me that he doesn't think the guy can play that position anymore.

All that being said, I guy at Alex Gordon's age *should* have some position ratings, I would think. Was this a league you created or a MLB quick-start with the game rosters? Maybe Gordon just wasn't imported properly.
