2017 IPA Elite 8 Series (Best-Of-Seven)

Final 4 Teams Decided, Turon Trims Luxora 3-2
The favored Turon Typhoons had to come from behind in the seven-game series and they had to come from behind in the seventh game of the Tycobbian Elite 8 to whip the hard-fighting Luxora Zorros by the score of 3-2... The Z's had a 2-1 lead going into the bottom half of the 7th inning, but couldn't hold it... Turon scored single runs in the seventh and eighth frames against losing pitcher Tiago Torres (0-2), who permitted only 2 earned runs and 5 hits... Torres fanned 4 and issued 3 walks.. winning pitcher Nicky Engstrom was masterful... Engstrom (2-0) worked 8 strong innings, permitted 5 hits and 2 runs, struck out 6 and walked one... Merle Studebaker relieved him in the ninth and retired the Zorros in order for his first save of the series... Typhoon CF Mac McCurnan got his second home run of the series... Turon now heads for a showdown in the TU Final 4 with the Bay St. Clair Buccaneers, the conquerors of mighty Ozarka. In the Ruthlandian Final 4, heavily-favored Eastshore tangles with the Valka Blackhawks.
