2018 IPA Pro Cup Playoffs

Ruthlandian Union Final 4 Series

Snappers Noland Stops Ancona 4-1
Junior Noland was almost flawless in the opening game of the Ruthlandian Final 4 Series... the Rocky Rapids right-hander stopped the Ancona Red Elephants cold except for LF Kenny Willard's ninth-inning home run... that was the only run Noland allowed in the 4-1 victory at Snapper Stadium... Noland (2-1 1.73) struck out 5, walked none and surrendered 7 hits... 1B Joel Williams gave him all the runs he needed with a 2-run smash in the second inning... Williams (.435) had 2 hits as did LF Rob Barton (.286), who scored twice and tripled in a run... Nikon Maragos (0-1 5.64) went 7 innings in defeat, allowing 6 hits and all 4 runs.

Tycobbian Union Final 4 Series

Turon Trio Too Tough, Blank Bucs In Opener
Three Turon pitchers combined to blank Bay St. Clair 3-0 on 9 hits in the first game of the Tycobbian Final 4 Series played at Typhoon Stadium... 29-game winner Shane Farmer (2-1 4.91) worked the first 7 frames and gave up 8 hits... Merle Studebaker pitched a scoreless eighth and Juan-Carlos Torriente closed it out in the ninth... Benny Coates (2-1 2.10) went all the way for the Buccaneers and tossed a credible game, permitting 8 hits with 3 Ks and no walks... CF Mac McCurnan (.188) clouted his 3rd playoff homer in the third for the first run of the game... 1B Clyde Kingsford (.233) added another solo blast in the sixth, his 2nd of the postseason... SS Jimmy Herr (.360) doubled in the final Typhoon run in the sixth.
