Ancona Ace Dukas Evens Series With Snappers
Ancona ace Clete Dukas worked his magic and got the Red Elephants a split after two games of the RU Final 4 Series... Dukas (3-1 2.06), a 20-game winner in the regular season, scattered 8 hits in beating Rocky Rapids 5-2, striking out 4 and walking 3... Dukas outpitched Don Chaney (2-1 2.92), who yielded 4 runs and 8 hits in 8 innings with 5 walks and 7 strikeouts... only 2 of the runs were earned as the Snappers committed 2 errors... Ancona got 10 hits and were paced by CF Ken Rutledge (.333), LF Ken Willard (.282) and C Ricky Utterbach (.286) with 2 hits each... LF Rob Barton (.360) went 3-for-4 for the Snappers... the Red Elephants got to Chaney for a run in the first and 3 more in the fourth... Dukas shut out Rocky Rapids until the sixth... the Snappers got the final score in the ninth.

Typhoons Sink Bucs 8-2 In Game 2
Turon is doing everything right and has taken the first two games of the Tycobbian Union Final 4 Series with Bay St. Clair... the Typhoons pounded out 13 hits at the plate and got a fine performance on the mound from Nicky Engstrom, who checked the Bucs on 5 hits, whiffed 8 and walked none... 2B Matt Madison (.314) led the offensive fireworks with 4 hits, 2 RBIs and 2 runs... 1B Clyde Kingsford also chipped with 2 runs batted in... LF Bruno DiPirro had 2 hits and 2 RBIs for Bay St. Clair... losing pitcher Hal Meissner (1-1 7.23) was gone before he even got warmed up... Turon attacked him for 6 runs in the second inning.
